The tariff offers 7 hours of off-peak periods allowing customers to heat their homes for less this winter with a competitive off-peak rate of 10p.
Renewable energy supplier and clean tech installer, Good Energy, has today launched a market leading fixed heat pump tariff.
The “Good Energy Heat Pump” tariff features a peak rate of 29.77p and a competitive off-peak rate of 10p available during two periods of the day, designed to match when heat pumps are typically using more power.
The off-peak periods are set from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, allowing customers to maximise their savings over a 7-hour period. The tariff is fixed until November 2025.
The tariff, “Good Energy Heat Pump”, is designed to provide customers with a competitive pricing structure which is based on Good Energy’s heat pump monitoring data. The peak and off-peak rate periods invert typical peak and off peak heat pump usage, so customers can heat their homes for less this winter, without having to change the settings on their heat pump.
Like all Good Energy tariffs, “Good Energy Heat Pump” is fully backed with power procured from its community of over 2,500 renewable generators.
To qualify for this tariff, customers must be a customer of Good Energy, have a smart meter installed with readings set to a half-hourly read schedule, have a direct debit in place and opt in for paperless communications.
While primarily aimed at customers with existing heat pumps, this tariff may also benefit those with electric vehicles, battery systems and solar panels, depending on their usage patterns. With this launch, Good Energy hopes to encourage even more customers to consider installing heat pumps in their homes and take advantage of low cost, low carbon heating.
Donna Slater, head of propositions and pricing, Good Energy said: “We wanted to pull out the stops for customers with this tariff to make it as economical as possible to heat your home without the need for fossil fuels. Not only is it a cheap off-peak rate and a competitive peak rate, designed to sync with when customers’ heat pumps are using more power, but it’s also fixed until November 2025 so customers are safe from any unexpected wholesale market costs over the winter months.”
Good Energy also launched a new EV tariff today, fixed until November 2025, with 5 off-peak hours from 12am-5am with a competitive rate of 6.75p.
